This exquisite little flower measures about 1/3" in diameter, and is a perfect example of why I love macro photography. Unless I told you the size of this flower, you might have thought it was much larger. The joy of being able to share the details of something so small is hard to put into words, but anyone who's into macro photography will know what I mean! Isn't this tiny flower just beautiful?! :)
Bi-Colored Flaxflower: The 51st Flower of Spring!

One of my very favorite flowers, this perfect little star pops up in blankets of white and pink all over our meadows from about May to July! I adore their bright and shiny, perfect little faces and make a point to stop and get nose-close to appreciate them whenever I see them! I'll be posting another picture of this beauty in perfect pink, and I think you'll agree, it's hard to decide which color is prettier!
Darling and tiny, this flower measures 1/3" in diameter and is native to the Pacific Northwest, from Baja, California to British Columbia. It grows in low-to mid elevation and does fine in dry environments.

This stunning little flower really is called a Baby Star! Aptly named, each blossom is just 1/3" in diameter! They come in both pink and white and make lovely twinkling carpets around our meadows in May! This is another color of the Bi-Colored Flaxflower, the 51st Flower of Spring & Summer!
A Hug & Dedication to my Wonderful, Dear Friend in…

I used to be addicted to an online video game called World of Warcraft. When Steve and I finally decided to stop, I began a blog about my experience. One day I began to get comments from a very nice woman, who I soon learned was an ex-"WOW" junkie like me, and she was from Athens, Greece! Desi and I became good friends over the next year and it was because of her that I got an account on Flickr! Once I stopped spending all my time playing WoW, I took an interest in photography, and my blog was filled with my pictures! Desi told me that I really need to get an account, and once I discovered Flickr, the rest was history! In fact, Flickr killed my blog because I am so interested in photography that I don't make time for blogging! :D
Desi and I share a special bond because of our ex-gamers connection. It's difficult to understand what it's like to be consumed by a game like this, and stopping can be very difficult. These games can destroy people's lives, and coming through the other side after playing for so many years is a triumph.
Today I got a letter from Desi, and it contained three wonderful videos that she took at the amazing ruins of Delphi, Greece. She says in one video that they are dedicated to me, and I was so touched! In fact, where she stood, I once stood when I was 21 years old, and I remember exactly what it was like to be there. It made me cry that she would send me these videos, and to be so thoughtful and dear.
I am so lucky to have Desi for my friend. I love her dearly and I look forward to the day that I will be able to go to Greece and visit her! She's AMAZING!!! *BIG BIG HUGS*!!!!
