Tatra T3 and T6A5 trams, Sidliste Barrandov, Pragu…

In the Fall of 2005 I explored the new tram line to Sidliste Barrandov, looking more for Fall foliage shots than train or tram shots. In the end, I got better tram shots. I took this at the end of the line in Sidliste Barrandov, where these Tatras were on the turnaround loop awaiting their next assignment.

Vystaviste is the exhibition ground for Prague, but it is also a tram terminal, with a turning loop constructed in park. It's always an interesting place to photograph trams, although here I'm not showing you the historic, pre-World War II trams that they use on service #91!!

Tatra T3 #6777 is very noticable for Prague in that it's a black tram. I'm not sure if there are any others in the DPP fleet that look quite like it. Usually, it's covered in advertising, and here you can see some posters on the side. I took this on the turning loop at the Sidliste Repy tram terminus.

DPP #7259 At Sidliste Repy, Prague, CZ, 2005

Sidliste Repy is a Communist-era housing project consisting of "Panelak" apartment blocks built to standard designs. Although many other Sidliste projects have been fully renovated and modernized, Republiky is still a work in progress, and still has a great deal of its Communist-era grime. Here I've taken a picture of the tram terminus, where arriving passengers get off the tram before it goes onto the turning loop.
