This was from my first roll of cross-processed film (which was, in turn expired Fujichrome Astia 100), and one thing that I discovered right away with it was that it looked good when converted to black and white. In actuality, this was true for the whole roll, as you'll see from some of my other posts. It seems the photos look like antiques, not unlike what you would get if you shot black and white film in a Holga, only perhaps even more extreme. The first thing that comes to my mind are the original Niepce Heliographs from the 1820s.

This was another shot from my first cross processed Fujichrome that I converted to black and white in Adobe Photoshop. This shot looks almost conventional as a result, kind of like an antique photo.

Here's one of my most alternative rail shots of all time. I'm not sure if you'll like it, but I figured I'd give it a try. This is, of course, again from my cross-processed roll of Fujichrome, but this time with the reds cranked up so high in Photoshop that it resembles a painting.

This shot was one of the less wild ones from my first cross-processed Fujichrome. The original had a strong Magenta cast, just like the rest, but the more interesting feature was the way in which all electric lights (as on the whole roll), streaked to the right. Originally, I wasn't sure if this was the camera or the cross processing, but I'm now aware that this is the film transport being out of sync with the shutter. If anybody knows how to fix this please help!! It does create the feel of motion, though, even though it wasn't the motion of the tram which created the trails. Also, of course, I'll state the obvious and point out that I converted the photo to black and white.

The yards and grounds surrounding Praha Hlavni Nadrazi are called "Sherwood Forest" by locals, referring to the near total anarchy there. The police are everywhere, but that doesn't reduce the public urination and defecation, the rampant vandalism, assault, robbery, and other much more awful crimes committed there, not to mention the unwillingness of any of the vagrants there to be even moderately sanitary. The whole station is slated for a rebuilding, which is already in its beginning stages, although there is still so much vandalism that I'm not sure what the point is. Anything built will be immediately trashed before it's even completed. There are also a lot of abandoned outbuildings in the yard, like this one. I shot this from a train waiting to depart.

Vitezne Namesti is a square in Dejvicka which includes both a traffic circle and a tram junction right through the middle of the circle. It sounds crazy, and it would be were it not for its enormous size, which allows two trams to occupy the middle space end-to-end with room for other trams to travel between them. This allows for a little bit of waiting time, but it's still a bit crazy. As with my other Dejvicka shot, this was an experiment with cross processing.

In addition to trams, metro trains, and of course the funicular trains/trams, DPP also has a large fleet of buses, some of them Volvos and such, but the vast majority being Karosas, as these are. I took this in Dejvicka, basically experimenting with my Lomo.

I've also got conventional versions of this shot, of course, but this is maybe the most interesting, being cross processed.

It's a shame, in a way, that I was shooting my cross-processed roll when I took this photo, as the locomotive is quite rare nowadays. Built 1957-1960 by Skoda, these are some of the oldest locomotives still in regular service on Ceske Drahy, and in this case the loco was standing in, with a rake of Russian bi-levels, for a Class 451 or 452 EMU on a service to Benesov U Prahy.

When I took this, I was hoping for an interesting detail shot, still life, or whatever, but I ended up with something far stranger than I had bargained for, as the cross processing on this roll was really extreme with the expired Fujichrome Astia and all.
