As our excursion pulled in, I got this lucky shot of 902 and 2398 lined up just right for this shot, which I quite like.

Here, back in order, this was where we picked up our Reading & Northern excursion train at the NRHS National Convention, led by a matching set of Reading EMD FP7s that had just been restored. Unfortunately this shot failed to capture 2398's cab, but it does give one of the better views that I got of 3300 during the NRHS Convention, as it wasn't there for show and had to hurry on its way without being uncoupled for us to get a better look.

While we were waiting for our Reading & Northern excursion at West Leesport during the 1995 NRHS Convention, we also got to see this Reading & Northern freight, which at least had second generation diesel power on it, number 2398, a U23B and 3300, a U33C.

As the title indicates, the location of this runby is a guess, and at best it was close to Pocono Summit, rather than in Pocono Summit. This was the second place that the 1995 NRHS Convention Special From Scranton to Pocono Summit stopped for a runby, if anyone wants to help figure out the exact location.

Here's my fourth runby shot from 261's first runby of the 1995 NRHS Convention Special back to Pocono Summit. The location, as previously stated, is only there to fill the field and any input into the proper location would be welcomed.

This is my third photo on the first runby of 261. This is, I think, the best pan shot that I took during the 1995 NRHS Convention, and one of my best ever with a steam locomotive. The location is a wild guess necessitated by the fact that rrpicturearchives doesn't allow you to omit location or give something vague. Any input for a correction would be welcome.

This shot, of former Milwaukee Road #261, was actually a photo runby, with two encores! There's nothing quite like a 4-8-4 being gunned. :-) The excursion was the finale for the 1995 NRHS National Convention. I've got some other shots just like this one on Flickr. Just look way back in my stream and around this one. :-)

Here's another shot from the Steamtown Grand Reopening in 1995, showing two of Steamtown's three active on-site steam locomotives of the time, 2317 and 3254.

I took this right after our NRHS Convention Special pulled into Steamtown for its grand reopening in 1995, which coincided, of course, with the NRHS Convention. We had ALCO diesels on the way in, of course, but Milwaukee Road 261 on the way out!!
