This is the church in the old town square in Nachod. I'm still looking for info on it, but it looks like it could have medieval origins.

Here are the Melnik radnice photos, as promised. Supposedly this site has been used for the radnice since 1449, although the site has the magistrat as far back as 1398, and the current building dates to 1793. This 1793 radnice was also rebuilt in 1889 and 1941, so even it isn't completely original. Other than this, I've had trouble finding much information about it.

Here's the old Radnice, or town hall, of Kladno, constructed in 1898, is considered neo-Rennaissance in style. The architect was named Jan Vejrych, which brings up the question of whether he could have been related to Jan Werich, the actor and comedian.

Here's a larger view looking away from the Smetana statue, although I'm unaware if this whole square is counted as Smetanovo Namesti. That building with the tower is the Radnice, or town hall. The spectacular cloud formation is partly an accident resulting from the heavy editing I had to do in Gimp to compensate for the terrible scan.

The radnice, or city hall, in Liberec is one of the city's most notable landmarks, and frequently appears in encyclopedia entries and travel guides. Built in 1893, it looks a lot older, of course, as it isn't common to find something so recent that features so much detail. :-)

This is one of my best photos of Hrad Krivoklat, although I can't decide whether I really like it or not. It would have been nicer if we had had nice weather, or maybe not....

Sundials mounted on the sides of buildings are quite common in the Czech Republic, and I've seen them in Germany, too. This one is in Hrad Krivoklat in Krivoklat, in the Czech Republic.

I took this because I liked the way the tower on the castle composed the shot.

Hrad Krivoklat was built during the 12th Century, used as a prison during the 19th Century, used as a family castle from the 19th Century until 1929, and today it's a tourist attraction. The village of Krivoklat is more common, but still pleasant. I was there mainly because of a steam train excursion that I was on over the Easter holidays.
