Here's a second shot of 324.391. This is just the numberplate, but at least the photo is decent.

#324.391 is a little bit harder to research than the other locomotives at the museum, but the museum has a bit of information on their website. It was built in 1908 by StEG (the predecessor to the OBB) at Maschinenfabrik Wien, but ended up on the Buštěhrad Railway, which was nationalised into CSD in the 1920's. Because it had worked for a smaller railway, when it ended up on CSD it was too antiquated and small to be anything but a shunter (switcher), having only 175kW (235 horsepower) and being capable of only 50Km/h. Given how little power it had, it's amazing it could even do 50Km/h with even a light load. In spite of this, it survived into the 1960's in Karlovy Vary, and survived even longer as a stationary boiler, although it is no longer operable. Like some other locomotives at the museum, it actually is the property of the Narodni Technicky Muzeum in Prague.

Plzensky Prazdroj Industrial Railway, Plzen, Bohem…

In the old days, Plzensky Prazdroj had its own industrial railway, and the equipment is still there on display. The designs of the equipment are noticably Czech/Austrian, although I don't know a lot about all of it.

Even Ceske Budejovice has rail attractions, the primary ones being the old Autro-Hungarian train station, Hlavni Nadrazi, behind this locomotive, and of course this locomotive itself, ex-CSD #310.076.

Apparently a lot of people had line permits for the weekend, as it was a Steam Gala weekend. I never found out whether they were working for the railway, for a magazine, for themselves, or a combination of things, probably a combination.

I took this out of a train window and over 957's tender at Keighley. I just liked the shot.

Here's a shot of 957 running around at Keighley. In reality, both 957 and 85 ran around, but seperately.

This is the first of a series of black and whites that I took on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway on my third visit there on February 18th, 2007. I started shooting black and white, if I'm not mistaken, when I got to Oxenhope, but I have to admit that in general these photos may not be in perfect order. Here we see ex-L&Y #957, built in 1887 (really!!), and Taff Vale #85, which is also ancient. The 957 is my favorite, though, being an L&Y "Ironclad" 0-6-0, as brutally authentic as a vintage British steamer can get. Neither is the oldest I've ever ridden behind, but they come close. They're also both quite small, so our train was headed by both locomotives.
