Bustarviejo Valley, La Sierra de La Cabrera. They seem to like poor but free-draining soil near a bit of boggy ground (snow melt perhaps)

There are three main cistus types in the Sierra, this one wth its magenta smudge at the base of the petal, an all white petal version (the most common) and a miniature version, very much smaller.
