What are, how do you use, docs?

So for I've found just about everything here at iperniy pretty straight forward, easy to use easy to understand. Photos are photos, in the articles area one writes articles but what are docs and what might one put/store in that area?

.mp3, .doc, .pdf, .ogg, .txt, .xpi, .odt, .fla, ..., well, at least everything which wasn´t a photo or video was added to "documents".
