A very poignant image Isabel, beautifully captured. I was in the Falklands at that time and we lost four of our shipmates :-(

Intriguing that you saw this in Portugal.........there's a story there somewhere I suspect.

I imagine what you felt... just once lost one of my guys, he had a heart attack and we were far from any coast, not much we could do... still think about it sometimes and it was not war, just Merchant Navy...

I gemerally try not to thinks about it...........but each year, on Remembrance Day, it can't be helped.

Last year we visited Belgium in this days..............

and the war nonsense continuous!

I assume they were from the same family, it'a shame I didn't see this yesterday a research site were offing free access to military records for Remembrance Sunday. In the village where my Grandad came from the war memorial has a Castell on it he is buried in the war cemetery in Gaza

So sad... humans and wars...
