Min Buri an amazing quarter of Bangkok

The district was once a province established in 1901 during King Chulalongkorn period consisting of Amphoe Khlong Sam Wa, Amphoe Saen Saep, Amphoe Nong Chok, and amphoe Jian Dab (เจียรดับ). The name Min Buri (meaning city of fish) was chosen to go with the existing Thanyaburi Province (meaning city of rice).

Khlong Sam Wa in Min Buri

The name Sam Wa means "three Wa's (one Wa = 2 Meters). Under compulsion colonized Cambodian muslim drudges had to dig out this Khlong with the breadthways of 6 Meters.

Traffic on the Khlong isn't as busy as on the road, but the noise of the long tail boats engines are louder many times.

Min Buri means City of the Fish. This mermaid represents the fish in a very beautiful way, a rarity in this puritan nation Thailand.

This Thai Buddha image shows the pang man wichai position, the submission of the "Māra".
In Buddhism, Māra is the demon who tempted Gautama Buddha by trying to seduce him with the vision of beautiful women who, in various legends, are often said to be his daughters. In Buddhist cosmology, Māra personifies unskillfulness, the "death" of the spiritual life. He is a tempter, distracting humans from practicing the spiritual life by making the mundane alluring or the negative seem positive.

Bangkok has its scenic parts a bit outside like here on the Khlong Song Ton Nun in direction to Lat Krabang.

Beside the temple people give bread for the carp fish which are overfeed like the kids come out from McDonald shop. Wat Pla means Fish Temple.

This four dignitaries are laminated with hundreds or thousands leaves of gold foils given by the pilgrims and buddhist inhabitants.
