Haw Phra Kaew in Vientiane
In 1936 and 1942, Haw Phra Kaew was rebuilt in the Bangkok-rococo style under the supervision of Prince Souvanna Phouma, a Paris-educated engineer and future prime minister of independent Laos. Today visitors to Haw Phra Kaew can admire some of the most exquisite examples of Buddhist sculptures in Laos on its veranda.
