Chencho in Landsberg
Landsberg is an old town notable for large portions of its walls still existing (and for the ex-president of the FC Bayern having to spend jail time there).
We had been in Landsberg before, but strangely I couldn’t remember much of our former visit. It may depend on my company; it consisted entirely of art historians, this time.
Chencho in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

While I sat waiting outside a chapel (Sankt Anton, to be precise), Chencho preferred a somewhat elevated position which offered a nicer view on the mountains (and approaching humans).
The thing in the corner of his right eye isn’t a tear –it’s a tick we removed when we were back home.
Walking

In March, the winter seems to be over. One can’t be sure, though: snow in April isn’t rare.

In January, there was some snow –less than in other years, but more than in Spain. And it’s fun!

Don’t they make a beautiful couple?

A heavy sky, a lonely farm house surrounded by storm-bent trees, canals protecting the lowlands from the flood, a struggling cyclist –epitome of my home country as I like to remember it.

At Munich Airport
Waiting at an airport is frightening, with the kerosine smell in your nose and the possibility you’d have to fly. It came as a relief that we only passed by to pick up our daughter...
Resting
Chencho doesn’t see our daughter very often, but he knows he can trust her, and shows that he does. Clean socks would be nice, though...
Nervous
Chencho is even more sceptical about trains than I am. Understandably he was quite nervous when, this afternoon, he was about to make his first –and very short– trip by train. All went well: he could get used to it.
Another pose

This picture is a few months old: the red harness has mysteriously disappeared since. However, Chencho strikes an interesting pose, different from any other in this series.
The lighting was a mix of natural and artificial, thus making the fauve even more so. The white breast hair isn’t welcomed by breeders of the Basset fauve de Bretagne, though many specimens have it. We find it adorable.

There’s much to be said against spending your holidays abroad, but at least it isn’t boring!
Chencho in IJsselstein

Life isn’t easy for a dog keeping the company of people who like to sit on terraces and sip Camparis, especially if all you get is water.

Chencho in Bourtange

Bourtange, an old fortress at the Dutch-German border, offers an important advantage to fearful dogs: They can see the enemy coming from afar (and fire a cannon if necessary).
