It’s strange to see how fast the R1 was gone, despite very good reviews. I think it has something to do with Sony taking over Minolta: the Alpha SLR is a Minolta, really.
My only gripe is with the R1’s image noise at high sensibilities: it has a wonderful range from ISO160 to ISO3200, but from ISO800 onwards the image quality falls into the category of “special effects”... The f2.8 lens is very nice, though, and I still prefer the 24mm wide angle and a moderate tele over a 35mm and an extreme tele (for that, I have to borrow my daughter’s camera).
Kees club has replied to renovatio06For our balcony to yield such pictures, I would need a good tele lens... For this one I had to walk, if just a few minutes... :-)
I wanted that sun, and would have loved it to be as big as yours are...
Kees club has replied to Sherry ~ RebujitoYou’ll also have the opportunity to discover that, while the camera has flare, its owner is entirely flairless...
