The Mincio river near Andes

“Virgil was born at Mantua”, they say, but that’s not quite accurate. Actually, he was born at Andes nearby. It was a pleasant surprise to discover the village, bland as it may be, still exists. According to some philosophers, no one gets into the same river twice, but as far as it gets, we may safely assume the poet took swims here as a boy. I was thrilled.
