Macro mandarine
For Macro Mondays weekly project No 369: "Summer fruits". I hope I will be excused for showing this mandarine (also PiP) which is fresh in season here, as I imagine current seasonality is the intent of the theme (even though it's now winter here).
Mobile benches
Interior of a tram on Sydney Light Rail. Outside peak times, there are plenty of benches from which to choose.
Happy Bench Monday and have a good week, everyone.
Weather screen
This weather screen is where the weather is recorded at Cape Reinga at the top of New Zealand's North Island. It is also where the lighthouse keeper's houses were once sited - with the lighthouse down far below.
Sydney skyline
Seen from the Maritime Mu-sea-um. Plenty of fences (and a range of other detail) there.
Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday and a good weekend.
Worn wall
Derelict building near Kiama station, with murals. See also PiP.
I guess it's appropriate to wish everyone a Happy Wednesday Worn Wall.
Across the Tasman
Looking southwest from Cape Reinga across the Tasman Sea toward Australia. I'll now be away until next week, so best wishes until then, everyone.
Cape Reinga lighthouse
At the northern extremity of New Zealand's North Island and now a very popular tourist destination. This lighthouse only began operation in 1941, replacing another on a nearby island. It was automated in 1987 and, since 2021, has operated on solar power with batteries. Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.
Meeting of waters
Cape Reinga, at the far northern tip of New Zealand, is where the Pacific Ocean to the east meets the Tasman Sea to the west. They have different water circulations and, apparently as a consequence, the different colours and the conflicting wave structure seen here. Best viewed full screen.
Ocean view bench
Bench along the path to the Cape Reinga lighthouse, at the top of New Zealand's North Island The PiP shows the lighthouse with another bench, but unfortunately also with lens flare. Happy Bench Monday, everyone.
