highway washers

An incident on an Italian highway (autostrada): After a truck had lost its trailer in an accident on the upper lane, around 15 washers fell on the lane right in front of our car. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but a couple of men got out of their cars immediately to push those washers from the passing lane in order to drive on.
As others told us, once the police arrived they blocked the highway for hours.
