By the way, it looks like we have two types: an all purple type (two tones) and a more faded kind of purple one that's blooming now.

The poor things have a short enough life.. but this year they have been battling high winds. Just getting then to SIT for a pic has been "interesting !"

The Iris beds need major restoration work.... and as its best done May to August...its not the best time here with the heat... but I will make a start !

The yellow with the white 'apron' hasnt flowered before.... wondering what others havent due to the over crowding. I have managed to find a name for that one.. such an ugly name for a gorgeous flower though... "First Intersate'.

That had to be a bad day at Black Rock when they named that !

The salmon one is divine.. and probably my favourite too.

The deep purple one(even richercolour for real) and the white ones are planted together under a huge Black Walnut tree.

The maroony one... I have a zillion of ! Yet the pale yellow.. I have only seen one of.

Very pretty collage Pam! Although I thought the middle one was best in your next shot, the upper left corner wins here. Those bright spots of yellow on it really stand out.

The deep purple one doesnt get justice done to it on a photo.. they are real deep deep royal purple.

James.., these I "inherited" from the previous owners.

The Iris bed is horribly overcrowded and I need to tackle restoring it. Its possible then I will see more flower.. and more colours !
