Strange Insect (Ichneumonidae, actually)

Maybe depositing eggs?

I "accidently" found a description of this insect in a book I quickly examined in a bookstore today; it's a Ichneumonidae (Schlupfwespe). Strange experience... opening a book totally at random, and seeing a picture of it.
