Driftwood

Driftwood
Spotted on a Hayling Island beach...........it's obviously been there a while and someone has carved a name on it (see if you can find it).

I liked the sinuous shapes of the tree trunk and the textures in the wood.

Best viewed large........especially if you want to find out the name ;-)

Paolo Tanino, Leo W, Berny, trester88 and 19 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very nicely composed Keith it's fascinating how the softer wood gets eroded, I'm surprised some one hasn't taken it for a garden ornament although the name would have lessened it's value ( yes I did find it )

It would have been difficult to move this lump of wood........my photo only shows about one third of it..!!

Nice one Keith,...a bit morbid but - I have always planned on carving my name and the date on a growing tree in our local woods,.. then perhaps my Sons and Grandkids will see it years later,..anyway youth,.. have a good day and keep well - Cheers from > Dj (while still alive)

Not morbid at all...........it's sounds like a great plan to me. Here's hoping both of us stay alive for a lot longer yet :-))

Take care my friend. Best wishes, Keith.

OUI.... il a gardé un caillou en lui lors de son passage en mer ainsi qu'un morceau de chaine,
Ah s'il pouvait parler.. il en raconterait des histoires on pourrait peut-être ne écrire un roman

Keith Burton club has replied to ROL/Photo club
Yes, it's obviously been there quite a while and through some stormy times. Glad you like it Roland.

It looks like a chain, but it's actually seaweed..!!
