The Starting Hut

The Starting Hut
Taken at Emsworth in Hampshire, on a rather gloomy day last month. In the foreground is the fresh water of the sailing club and on the other side of the wall is the salt water of the harbour. The hut is used by the local sailing club to start races etc.

Given the weather, black and white seemed the way to go. Better viewed large if you have time. Thanks for looking.

A lovely band of light cloud across a well composed and nicely captured image Keith,
The gull on the buoy appears to have a tasty morsel and the dark sky enhances the mono of the scene, Nice one!

This sky looks like the sea itself in the form of a tsunami. A very seafaring atmosphere in this scene.
Throughout the Cantabrian coast, competitions are held in (traineras), whaling boats with twelve rowers and a helmsman. Have a nice Sunday, Keith.

Thank you very much for your kind and generous comments Anton. I'm always pleased when you like one of my photos.

There's not a lot of call for whaling boats in this part of the world, most of our competitions are with sailing boats. The whaling boats races sound very exciting though.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and have a good week ahead.

I like these kind of shots in monochrome Keith, they always add a sense of yesterday with them. Great shadow cast by that hut on the water and the birds/waterfowl add to it all too. Well done.

Have a good day and thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb
