That’s interesting about more recent use of the slipway. I didn’t realise that happened though I vaguely remember the rockfall closure.

Thank you, Colin, it happened in 2013 with a ferry working this route for the first time since 1970, the only road diversion involved a 130-mile road trip in each direction. However, routes to avoid the troublesome tunnel section of A890 are now being considered.

A far better photo here than I managed to take in very poor weather whilst visiting this year from Kyle of Lochalsh. I know my Sister in Law and her husband did this ferry run a few times many years back now. The hamlet is not even a one-horse-pony town nowadays even though the train halt is still there

So unusual to see a red post-box and a red telephone box next to each other.............certainly a rarity down South, but maybe not in Scotland. They anchor the frame perfectly!

The arcs in the water, combined with leading line through the post and the rock (?) In the water make it very easy to take in the photo quickly, as does the phone box, of course. Excellent composition.
