The iconic lighthouse will still be there after the lock-down Roger, unlike some of the shops and businesses I fear! Always good to see a picture of this, in any weather! Take care.

Thanks Andy, It has stood the test of time extremely well and even the huge storm of 1981 which battered the sea defence's into submission and flooded the town failed to have any impact on this elderly structure.

I suspect its steel shoes are well anchored and the posts offer little resistance to the waves but most of all like many tall buildings it's built to move both by wind and wave but what ever it's secret is it works!

That lighthouse looks interesting. It's so small. I hope the ships can see its light. When the high tide comes the lighthouse keeper gets wet feet. :-)

Many thanks Susanne, It is 30ft (9m) High and has a range of 12 Nautical miles (22km) and it's sole purpose is to guide ships into the river channel and it's all automated these days.

Thank you Keith it does add a bit of interest to a long and frankly quite boring beach, the seaward side has a wide red stripe from top to bottom but it looks in need of a clean or repaint sometime soon.
