Une remarquable et excellente prise très déterminante et excellemment rendue avec cette magnifique perspective.Tout comme chez nous ce genre de voies ferrées sont abandonnées sinon inutilisables..

For me, this image also symbolizes infinite vastness, but also a path that is too straight, too 'easy', a path that leads not only the human species into the abyss.

I couldn't agree with you more, my friend. Thank you for your appreciation and pertinent analysis.
But you must admit that our ancestors felt the need to normalize/model the unknown and often threatening world around them.
Today, however, this reflex is no longer justified. And it's, I think, a reversal of paradigm that we are happily observing on an increasing scale. But it still comes up against the most reactionary and individualistic conservatism.
Man's future can only lie in the progress of his conscience. When will-it prevail, no one can say today (and certainly not in 2025!).

Und photo qui donne lieu à de nombreuses interprétations. Calme, liberté, espace, nostalgie, espoir, ...... Comme je suis un adapt de la photographie en n/b, j'imagine justement la photo en n/b, quand aucune couleur ne vient distraire et perturber les sens.

J'ai suivi ton conseil, en essayant d'équilibrer ma perception actuelle (celle de ma photo) et l'évocation de l'obsolescence de cette ligne, avec (arbitrairement) des contrastes légèrement accentués... Je n'ai pas les "codes" du n&b, je ne suis que mon intuition. Si tu peux m'orienter, je te serai reconnaissant !

Bei näherem Betrachten, auch XXXL, scheint es als habe sich noch kein Rost auf der Lauffläche der Schienen abgelegt. Daraus habe ich eine weitere sporadische Nutzung gesehen. Es ist wie einst bei den Hochöfen der Erzhütten, im Stilllegen sind sie schnell.

Auch Deine perfekte Perspektive läßt nicht über eine gewisse Trostlosigkeit hinwegtäuschen.

Although I worked for over 10 years in the railway industry - but far from the track, as I worked on computerized signalling systems - I can't say what alloy differentiates the rails from the joint bars (clamping bolts), which are completely rusted here.
A quite good observation, Erich, which prompted me to study the history of this line more closely.
As you suggest, while the section upstream from Pithiviers that I've already walked and photographed was definitively decommissioned in 1969, it seems that this downstream section continues to be operated very episodically for freight right up to the present day. I didn't observe this, but I only visit the line at weekends. The moderate colonization by plants also confirms your statements. I'll have to make some enquiries or, failing that, post myself near this line during the week to find out more!
As I mentioned under my photo, my inherited interest in the world of railways is constant. But I confess that, not being an 'orthodox' engineer, I'm more interested in the imaginary it conveys than in its intimate metabolism :-)
