Ein Blick in den Chorraum der ehemaligen Abteikirche in Amorbach im Odenwald. Die Gründung des Klosters Amorbach wird auf das Jahr 834 datiert. Von 1742 bis 1747 erfuhr die Abteikirche ihre Umgestaltung im Stil des Barock/Rokoko. 1803 wurde die Abtei säkularisiert. Die 24 Mönche mussten das Kloster verlassen. Die Fürsten von Leiningen erhielten den Klosterbesitz als Entschädigung für ihre Stammlande in der Pfalz, die in den Revolutionskriegen an Frankreich gefallen waren. Die ehemalige Abteikirche dient dem Fürstenhaus seit 1803 als evangelisch-lutherische Hofkirche.

A view of the choir of the former abbey church in Amorbach im Odenwald. The foundation of the monastery Amorbach is dated to 834th. From 1742 to 1747 the abbey church was transformed in the Baroque style / Rococo. 1803 the abbey was secularised. The 24 monks had to leave the monastery. The Prince of Leiningen received the monastic property as compensation for their family seat in the Palatinate, which was fallen to France in the revolutionary wars. The former abbey church serves the Princely House as Lutheran court chapel since 1803.
