Ein beeindruckendes Foto Berny, und eine sehr gute Qualität, mit welcher Technik hast Du das gescannt?? Mein Vater besaß eine BK 350, leider hat sie ein Verwandter, der sie restaurieren wollte dann verschrottet.

Vorausgeschickt: Das ist viel Arbeit gewesen. Ich scanne seit Jahren meine 10000en Dias, zuerst war es ein Canon Scanner, dann ein Nikon Super CoolScan LS5000 (Dia- bzw. Filmscanner), mit einem Zusatzgerät, das 50 Dias auf einmal einscannen kann. Ich scanne im Format dng, das ich dann in Photoshop als "raw" mit "Camera Raw" vorbearbeite und in Photoshop endbearbeite. Neuderdings schärfe ich teilweise mit "Topaz Sharpen AI" nach. Man kann gegenüber dem rohen Scan eigentlich fantastisch viel rausholen. Aber wie gesagt, hoher Aufwand! - Danke Dir!

Dankeschön Berny für Deine Infos, ich habe nämlich das Gleiche vor mir - und da ist es gut wenn man auf einen Rat von erfahrenen "Restauratoren" zurück greifen kann! Beste Grüße, Karsten

Wonderful photo and looks like a very nice bike. How many of the 24 bikes did you manage to restore?

Good question, not so many. In total I restored the following bikes: BMW R42 (1927), BMW R57 (1928, with original painting and plating), BMW R51 (1938), Puch S30 (1930), Puch 800 (1936), Puch 250TF (1954), Honda CB 450D (1967), Honda CL450 K1 (1970) and Brough Superior SS100 (1930), only 9 bikes. But not all were from these 24 I owned in 1984. The latests and my last project for sure was the Brough Superior, which took me 7 to 8 years.

That is quite a lot to my mind! Nice work.

Dampfkraftwagen trifft zumindest auf die Pkw von DKW zu, denn bei den Zweitaktern kam immer eine blaue Wolke auf dem Auspuff, Bluemotion eben ;-)

Die waren damals mit Bluemotion ihrer Zeit weit voraus ;-))) In Kuba ist das heute noch so....

Würde ja gern mal eine DKW sehen, die ihrem Namen Ehre macht. Mit so einer kleinen Dampfmaschine drin ... puff puff pufffff ... ;-)

Das Bild ist übrigens auch sehr gut - und dazu super aufgearbeitet - restauriert, sozusagen.

An interesting old motorcycle. As you seem to have discovered, the advantage of collecting old bikes instead of old cars is that more can be fitted into the space available. :-) Slightly belated HFF, have a great weekend, Berny.

There are many reasons. You need less space, much easier for maintenance, less rust problems, cheaper, just to mention the most important ;-)) Thank you, George!

Das hat schon seinen Reiz. Es gibt schon einige, die die Oldtimer im Originalzustand belassen, auch samt dem Rost, und nur das warten, was technisch notwendig ist. Meine beiden Hondas sind im Originalzustand, aber noch nicht soooo alt, das ist die von 1967:

Bei Gitarren kann ich mir das auch gut vorstellen! Es gibt auch Saxophonisten, die völlig gealterte Geräte spielen.

HFF Berny...auch heute noch....der alte Zaun und das Castrol-Schild dazu is ja auch geil :))))

Dort gibt es immer noch eine Autowerkstatt, muss mal nachschauen, ob es das Schild noch gibt ;-)) Den Pferdestall und den Zaun allerdings schon lange nicht mehr. Danke Dir!
