Biocos - the Algarvian burkhas.
Women in the Algarve used to wear this outfit until a local governor, who didn't like such tradition, prohibited the face covers in the late 19th century. Nevertheless, some women wore biocos until the 1930's at Olhão. These are displayed in the Costumes Museum, at Dr. José Dias Sancho Street, São Brás de Alportel.
