Menorca: Alaior. The town is built on a hill, which makes for an interesting street topography. As usual, the church—Església Parroquial Santa Eulàlia (1674–1690)—is on top of the hill. This photo was shot from the church's parvis. Costa de l'Església is on the right and Carrer Menor is on the left.

X!X (19) can be seen on the approach,. and more clearly on 'street view' I wondered if it was a significant date to do with the church but I can't make a connection,. // Anyway no matter - Alaior wish we were there,. Keep well - go steady and Cheer's,. from Dj.

Btw thanks for your pick up on Hardwick hall...

Hi, David! I don't see a XIX anywhere, but there is an X and something that looks like a piece of fleece. If the latter is correct, then I would interpret this as "Christ [X] the Lamb of God [the fleece]." Interesting question, señor :)

'Hola' Nicolas',.(good eh) (˚◡˚) - the XIX that I see is in light tiles on the ramp up to the door,. viewed downhill from the 'Sorea' water office, I will put in the co-ordinates but you would find it anyway.. N 39° 56' 06.29'' E 4° 08' 20.10''
..thinking on,. the XIX is probably just decorative.

Now keep well and go steady.. Cheers'.. from Dj.

Unbelievable! Thanks for the coordinates. I notice now that there are identical "symbols" on the other ramp, as can be seen faintly on this photo. Walking up and down these ramps, I never thought that these symbols might represent a century, just some sort of construction devices to maintain the cobblestones in place. I did a bit of research about the church but I did not find anything about the 19th century. Next time I see the padre, I will ask him. Thanks again, David. That was an interesting remark.

I get you thanks,. Nicolas.. yes might be just decorative tiling as they do,. or could be a date from history,. it would be interesting to discover,.// Dj.. UK.
