Wow! That ivy has really taken over the whole wall and most of the house by the look of it. It looks really beautiful, but I dread to think what it's doing to the structure of the wall and the house. It must weigh a ton!

I love the red and green colour palette.........and the detail you've captured.

The wires from the bracket seem to disappear into the ivy about half way down the wall............it's a mystery!

It's part of Melbourne Hall ( South Derbyshire ). I wonder if it was a tradesman's door with a bell pull connected to an elaborate system of wires and pulleys the next time I'm there I will investigate
