oaw[I] / hin[22] - Emperor dragonfly

Emperor dragonfly [Anax imperator] laying eggs on what I think is Potamogeton gramineus [various-leaved pondweed] in a large pond in Norfolk.

I had been trying [and failing] to capture images of either the very territorial male dragonfly or the female flying above the pond. Finally, I managed this image and cropped it "in camera".

Thank You ! trying by "handheld" methods with a "slow" camera makes for a frustrating time, especially as I was otherwise engaged for much of the visit and so missed more than a few opportunities.
Unlike birds, you can't tempt them to land with food.
