Fossil Creek Dam

Fossil Creek Dam
Fossil Creek Dam near Strawberry, Arizona.
The dam was built to divert Fossil Creek down a flume to a power generating plant about four miles downstream.
The power plant and flume are gone now and flow is returned to the creek bed.

Oh! it's a man made dam? Now I get it.

This is a great piece of nature vs structure. I love how it's creating a bowl as the side. What a nice place to have gone to. Which part of Arizona is it located?

It's right about in the middle of Arizona.
Fossil Creek emerges as a natural spring from the Mogollon Rim near Strawberry, AZ and flows about 17 miles to the Verde River.
Wherever there is a pool in the creek it's nice to swim because the water is not too cold and it is so clear you can always see right to the bottom.
