10-Week Picture Project: Trees

Week 1: Single tree, living or dead Here is a photo from the archives: Autumn a year ago we had a particularly colorful season. When the conditions are right, the Pin Oak in our back yard turns red for only a few days before turning brown. This particular year it was ablaze!

10 Week Picture Project: Trees, Week 2: Group of Trees or Forest. Photo taken from one of my many trips to the lovely Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA.

Week 3 (January 19-25): Tree(s) without Leaves (can be dormant or dead). These trees are in my front yard. I thought I would do some creative processing for a change, because the original photo is quite bland (see inset).

10 Week Picture Project Week 4 (January 26-Feb 01): Tree Parts: Green Leaves I'm standing under an ancient Japanese Maple located at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA. This particular tree had both green and red leaves.

10-Week Picture project Week 7 (February 16-22): Tree Parts: Autumn Leaves Since I am in the dead of winter, I had to pull a photo from the archives. It's actually my first attempt with selective focus. Considering I used a point and shoot camera to make this image, I was happy to get the ladybug in focus. Taken in Autumn, 2013, the leaves from this pin oak in my yard were turning a beautiful rusty red before going to the usual brown color, something that does not occur every year.

10-Week Picture Project Week 8 (February 23-March 01): Evergreen Tree The beautiful pine tree in my front yard during a snow fall.

A beautiful old Japanese Maple that I came across while strolling through Winterthur Gardens near Wilmington, Delaware last Summer. The afternoon sun illuminated the tree in a most interesting way.
