Perhaps the bird needs to fly a little further west.

Perhaps. I'll go back there and take it again.

Just shift it a little, like you did with my boat.

Sorry, can't - it's a protected species.

So are my photos, but it doesn't stop you interfering with them.

To humour you, I've shifted it slightly west, but on Flickr am keeping the original version because although the difference is minor, IMHO the cormorant and the stork balance one another better.

They are very nicely balanced here, now that you've moved him slightly away from the trees.
A top shot that was worth going for.

There's a message somewhere from the fact that initially-rejected shots, like this example uploaded as an afterthought, often turn out the most popular. Is it because they're uploaded in isolation, and not one of a batch taken on the same trip, uploaded in quick succession?

The great advantage of photographic tours over ordinary small-group tours is that some of the excursions are run early or late in the day when the lighting is interesting, and also that the bus will stop when and where there are photo-opportunities, and on these impromptu stops (this was one; the bus had pulled in by a bridge) often result in the best pictures. Also that at every location they allow sufficient time for pictures to be taken.

I cannot account for other people's tastes. Some people fave so many that I wonder if they ever have time to look at them again. I would fave this myself if it weren't foreign, but you know I like to keep an English theme in my stream. I cannot understand why you would initially reject one of the best pictures in this series.

If you upload photos separately, I think your contacts might see each one in their thumbnails, whereas a succession of photos will just show the first one.

I rejected this initially because the view was bisected by power lines and contained no bird life other than the ducks in the far distance.

Ah, so it's all Shepperton chicanery, is it?

Howard Somerville club has replied to Isisbridge club
The big birds are Shepperton, but at least they're from pictures taken on the same trip, albeit in a different Indian state.

In a hotel?

Or a lavatory. Looking at this would relax you whilst doing your business.

Regular group tours have comfort stops for those who need them, which I rarely do on day excursions. I 'do my business' in the hotel.

I was thinking of one of your lavatories at home.
You could hang it in the "ladies" that rarely gets used.

Little wall space in there on which to hang pictures. It was originally a walk-in cupboard under the stairs, which in the 2000's was converted into a downstairs lavatory.

I had a bit of luck yesterday. Having spent the afternoon at an indoor event in Liphook, I drove home via East Meon where I'd never been and only discovered though Jaunty Jane on Flickr, managing to get there an hour or so before sunset when the light was at its most photogenic.
