I do have hope considering I'm beginning to see more socially responsible waste receptacles as shown below. The trick, though will be for people to train themselves to use them even if it takes a little more time separating various waste items.

I have noticed at our local supermarket where they have lots of
bins like these for us all to use ... there is now a sign that says ... no
fly tipping ...!!! .... it seems people are just dumping other waste by
the bins for others to collect and dispose of ... can you believe it ?
