HFF from Cooper Mill Lock ~ Grand Union Canal

The lock gates seem to be struggling to keep the water in. Flood conditions?

Wooooa!! hey dear Nick, lots going on here !! this scene could be from right here in my county
with all the rain for the last two days here. Roads closed all around in the county, either too much water in roads from the rain to pond dams breaking and overflowing the highways. its a mess. but luckily the sun is out today, LOTS of wind and freezing temps for the week, (in the 20's) brrr.

I really like this. Sure looks flooded, but you might have expected somebody to open the gates a little.... Starting at the lowest one.

Opening the gates Peter would result in more flooding down stream, there is a river sharing the canal at this point and whilst I understand the logic of your suggestion, I guess it might cause too much damage ~ Hanwe ~ Nick

Hello Nick certainly a little damp under foot and indeed boat here .. i hope the walker keeps a watch on those mooring bollards with the water to make sure they are still on his left :))
