Fresno de Torote. A nearby village to Algete where I now live. Spring 11 years ago.
Perhaps better on full screen.
I tried adding this to the group 'Clouds', which I joined recently but the group has dissapeared from my drop down list. Any ideas why, anyone?
H. A. N. W. E. everybody! A stormy day.

View from the upper terrace. Storm clouds swept through in waves all day yesterday.
Appropriate song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G2-FPlvY58 (Sorry about the ad before the song but that's the most annoying aspect of Youtube!)
View from the upper terrace. HFF everyone!

When it gets a bit warmer, this is a nice spot to have breakfast as it gets the sun in the morning. Other meals can be taken outside but round the front of the house as this terrace is in shade for most of the day as it is north facing. I'll post a view from the lower terrace in a few days time, taken on the same day but a little earlier and a rather different aspect and shot.
Perhaps best on full screen.

Another view from the dining room terrace. Best on full screen.H. A. N. W. E. Everybody! A surprise was the first snow cover on the mountains - an unusually early occurance!

Little did I imagine in 2018 that in 2 years time i'd be living on top of that hill!
Country path, Fuente el Saz de Jarama.

Path between Algete and Fuente el Saz de Jarama, Madrid Province. On the horizon, La Sierra de Guadarrama and La Sierra de La Cabrera. About 10 minutes walk from where I live now; I didn't when I took this! As i get back into walking mode post Covid I hope to take more shots from round here.

Dawn, one Christmas

Taken on Boxing Day morning a year or so ago. A lovely scene to wake up to. And I wouldn't have guessed at the time that a year later I would be living here!
A filthy day

A recent run of either calimas (Saharan dust) or stormy weather has restricted outdoor shots. (I wanted to capture the lightning but I've never been any good at that, unlike Fred, Yves and others!)
Inner Cornwall

From Carn Brae to Carn Marth, near Redruth. Between 300 and 150 years ago this was one of the most industrialized places on the Planet. You wouldn't know it now! (Although one old chimney-stack is still just visible in the valley to the right).
Porthcadjack. H. A. N. W. E. everyone!

As of Sunday, I moved to my sister's home here in Algete, 40 km northeast of Madrid and with great views of the Sierra de Guadarrama. In the centre of the skyline is the craggy outline of La Sierra de La Cabrera, a favourite walking and scrambling area. At the bottom of the shot is the hen coop. Lovely fresh eggs for breakfast!
