Cancho de La Bola

Normally home to many Griffon vultures but they were all out as I clambered over it. An oldie but still a favourite as it gives a good feel for the spectacular granite forms. I 'note' where the vultures usually like to hang out.

Thank you, Keith. I aim to get back there for the first time in 5 years at some point next week and I hope to still find some Spring flowers high up before the heat of Summer shrivels it all away!

Thank you, Keith but the forcast is not promising. Resumption of violent storms (we just had a three day respite). This afternoon three humdingers and more forecast for the next few days so it'll have to wait a bit longer.

I think next week might see the end of the storms, Keith but it will definitely see the start of the summer cauldron - so another sort of problem for one not as fit as he would like to be or once was (although with diligence and help from my excellent physio, I'm getting there!)

There are paths, Udo but not visible in this shot. I prefer to scramble over the rocks personally and only use the paths when I have to get back quickly for the last bus to Madrid!

I currently live partly in a granite area of Cornwall and partly outside Madrid where the nearest scenic place to go are these granite rocks!

Thank you everyone! Plans to return to seek the last of the Spring wildflowers in these mountains are receding fast due to poor weather forecasts. So possibly a fifth year on the trot with no visit. :o(
