Thank you, Malik. I managed to exclude the path in the foreground just leaving the shadow as the base of the image. I'm pleased you like the effect!

Where would we be without our friends, the trees?

Such a magnificent tree.................I wonder how old it is? A beautiful shot Andy - besides the tree I also like the lush greens and the lovely blue sky.

Thank you Keith.
I looked at this website www.monumentaltrees.com/es/esp/comunidaddemadrid/madrid/21385_parquedeloeste
It's in Spanish but it does say it was planted 20 years either side of 1940. I would rule out 1936 to about 1946 as the Civil War and subsequent battlefield debris here (unexploded bombs, etc.) would make this an unlikely planting era for the park. The size of this and other trees suggests to me that it is a survivor of the war and must have been planted in the earlier development of the park in the first few decades of the 20th century. Just a guess though!

What a fabulous tree Andy, - beautiful and it looks huge! A lovely shot. Do they not make a supplement for mental health from these trees? If so this one would make a lot of people feel happy! Have a lovely evening

Thank you!
There are as many health shops in Spain as in the UK, Carol and they sell just as many ginkgo supplements. But all the trees in this very tree-y park are protected. and rightly so!

I hope to see it in autumn, Josiane (I hope to God that the parks aren't closed again!!!). I have seen many other (smaller) trees in autumn. This should be spectacular!

Thank you, Udo,
Yes one of the biggest gingko trees in Europe. Sadly illness has prevented me from revisiting these past 3 years and this year I won't see its amazing autumn colours either as I'm in Cornwall!
