How are these things formed? Sandblasted for millennia?

Granite: formed from the slow crystallisation of magma below the earth's surface. It can then be shaped under deep sea, or on mountain tops, (sometimes both) etc. Many different forms and sometimes some curious weathered shapes. Please look it up, Ron; I'm no geologist! :o)
