El Cancho de La Bola, where my vultures perch - but few on that day.
The white, guano-stained, rock up above, is where I creep up to as quietly as I can to take photos of the Griffon vultures that normally occupy this place. it is estimated that this huge precariously sited boulder is so white because Vultures have been here since the end of the last ice age, therefore 8 - 10,000 years. Enough time for a serious staining problem to develop!
Sierra de La Cabrera, Madrid Province.
Also, one of these granite hot heads is going to get red-carded for a head butt soon, probably both of them!

Philippe,
Larry,
Many thanks!
Pierre,
Elbertinum,
Many thanks!
Lots of sites to pick from, but one that stood out .. ''it is against the law to put out bait with poison''---- well, yes that would account for a decline in population.
Like in the States, DDT had to be banned because Eagles were declining in population .. the poison made the shells too weak... so no Eaglets.
We have (slowly) been getting them back -- hope the Griffon vultures climb to a large population. But, you are going to have to PM me about your last sentence.... no clue !
Those rocks are so interesting .. can understand why you like them so much.
It refers to the two touching rocks on the left who look like they are squaring up to each other. Soccer analogy from when a player thrusts his forehead into or very close to another player's face.
If contact is made following deliberate intent then it is a sending - off offence, indicated by the referee showing a red card to the player.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Ronald Losure clubIf you are referring to my initial reply to Peggy then you are quite right and I went straight to bed. I amended my reply to her quite drastically this morning!
Thank you for your kind thought!
