Bullace (one of many varieties of wild plum) in a Kent garden
This is an absolutely delicious wild plum. I found that Bullaces can come in red, green, purple and yellow. They are a bit smaller than most cultivated plums but larger than damsons and sloes. Mid July and perfectly ripe. My brother's garden in Bromley.

Andy Rodker club has replied to micritterAnd I have tasted golden greengages in a long-abandoned orchard in the hills of Southern France and they were close to these and on reflection they might not have been greengages (my only point of reference at that time) but now I think they could have been bullaces too! Hadn't thought of that before. Who would have thought wild plums could generate this much passion! You probably had similarly excellent wild plums in The Lebanon, micritter!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Maeluk clubThey are sweeter than the sweetest greengage or victoria you have ever tasted.

(and probably good slivovich too!)
