First cicada of spring

Magicicada sp.
I spotted this cicada with its exoskeleton on the exterior wall of my house early this morning. Millions of these are predicted to emerge in the southeastern USA this year. All individuals of this species emerge from their underground burrows every 13 years. This is the first one I saw this morning. Several more emerged later in the morning.

Strix varia
I have not seen any of the owls since 17 April. I hope they are well and have flown to some other tree.

I think its nest is right behind it. I saw one of the adults catch a small mammal and carry it to the other adult in this tree recently.
