What a great way to promote donating!

I am wondering if it is possible to see how much is in the fund for the software update to date. Maybe that could be shown to us about once a month?

It could be in a simple graph form with the total goal shown (maybe the short term 40,000 goal and the full goal of 100,000 shown?) I find graphs like that to be inspiring.

If it was included in each Newsflash as an image, then members could share that image to inspire others.

Taormina

Hallo Bernhard, Hallo IMA
also zwei oder sogar drei Personen habe ich animieren können hierher zu kommen.
Eine weitere hadert noch damit.

"Werbung" über einen Twitter oder Instagram Account kann ich nicht machen.
Andererseits schreibe ich in unsere Dreckigen Autos immer "Ipernity.com" ….
und die fahren ja viel durch die Stadt. Die Neugierde derer, die das sehen sollte wachsen ;))

Zum Thema Werbung aber noch etwas anderes:
Wer hat denn ein Logo oder Bild von der Seite, über das man Frei verfügen kann?!
Ich will dieses hier und da mal einfügen und auch versuchen es auf einem Flyer
auszudrucken. Wir sind im Frühjahr nun auf einigen Messen unterwegs wo dies
vielleicht gesehen wird und mancher Besucher reagieren könnte.

Das Angebot oben finde ich gut. Ich hoffe es sagen noch mehr zu.
Wann ich es in Anspruch nehme weiß ich derzeit noch nicht genau,
aber ich habe es vor zu tun.

Ich will nochmals anmerken, wie wichtig es ist die Mobilen Endnutzer mit einzubeziehen,
wenn es um die Entwicklung der Plattform geht.

Great presentation indeed. I think it might be an added incentive to publish progress in amount raised, (like it was done for crowdfunding if I remember well). Could it be in everyone's actuality page on the ipernity board on the right side, presented like a graphic or a level scale?
I've already received the mail in Portuguese, contributions done!

and said they would update weekly. i like your idea of it being on the side with the ipernity board - i think maybe they can do that? but if not, a post with an appropriate title could do the trick.

Ich möchte allerdings zunächst noch die ZIff 2.) Eurer Nachricht abwarten, die da gelautet hat:

Im Prinzip ist der Rahmen auch schon abgesteckt, aber wir müssen eines nach dem Anderen abarbeiten, sonst kommen wir ins Stolpern. Aber ich kann Dir heute schon sagen, dass ich dafür gesorgt habe, dass Dein Wunsch einer "nutzerspezifische Datensicherung" in diesem Rahmenentwurf ausdrücklich drin steht.

Firstly, the email may have been filtered to your spam folder, possibly due to the number of financial terms it contained.
If that is the case, you may wish to investigate how to set team@ipernity.com as an "approved sender" so our emails always arrive in your inbox.
Possibly under junk mail or security settings of your mail service.
Secondly, the mailing is to let us reach members who do not follow these blogs.
Essentially it contained the same information as in the opening post here, and the previous Software Update Strategy.

1) oben auf das deutschsprachige Chart.

2) unter dem Bild, welches sich dann öffnet, steht der Text:

Leider können wir die dargestellte Subscriptions-Seite nicht entsprechend geändert zur Verfügung stellen. Eine Änderung wäre nämlich ein kostenintensives zusätzliches IT-Projekt, das wir extra in Auftrag geben müssten.

Der Buchungsvorgang für die "Anleihen" selbst ist ein sehr gutes Beispiel dafür, warum die Neuprogrammierung von Ipernity dringend notwendig ist, die mit den Anleihen finanziert werden soll:

Es wäre natürlich schön, wenn man sich einfach per Knopfdruck eines der Anleiheangebote auswählen könnte. Aber wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe, ist der Programmcode von Ipernity so intransparent und kompliziert, dass die Umsetzung einer solchen auf den ersten Blick vielleicht einfach erscheinenden Funktionalität Kosten von etlichen Tausend Euro verursachen würde. Die Neuprogrammierung soll nach meinem Verständnis gerade dazu dienen, in der Zukunft einen übersichtlicheren und besser wartbaren Code zu haben, so dass derartige Dinge dann auch ohne massiven Kostenaufwand umgesetzt werden können.

Um eine solche Verbesserung der technischen Basis zu realisieren, müssen die Ipernity-Mitglieder gemeinsam einen einmaligen Kraftakt leisten: In finanzieller Hinsicht durch die Anleihen, und in praktischer Hinsicht, indem sie zunächst noch damit leben, dass manche Dinge gegenwärtig etwas umständlich umgesetzt werden müssen, da die technische Grundlage für elegantere Lösungen ja erst noch geschaffen werden soll.

Man müsste eine entsprechende Designänderung der betroffenen Webseite machen. Das könnten wir (Rob und ich) noch intern leisten, wofür wir 1-2 Arbeitstage bräuchten. Danach müssten dann die betreffenden 16 html-Files (für 16 Sprachen) herausgesucht und einzeln angepasst werden. Weiters müsste das für alle einprogarmmierten Währungen (CAD, CHF, GBP und USD) gemacht werden. Schlussendlich müssten neue Verknüpfungen zu Paypal hergestellt werden. In Summe kommt dabei heraus, dass an die hundert html-Files angefasst, geändert und dann ausgiebig getestet werden müssen, einschließlich Probeüberweisungen.
Ich glaube, eine Arbeitswoche ist dafür nicht zu niedrig angesetzt. Die Ausgaben stünden in keinem Verhältnis zum Ertrag. Wir würden mit vollen Händen Geld zum Fenster herauswerfen, dass ein kleinen Beträgen zur Tür hereinkomt.

Bank transfer is very slowly:
1) Money has to be transferred from your bank to Credit Agricole (1-2 days)
2) Credit Agricole has to inform Eric (bank account holder) (1-2 days)
3) Eric has to inform me (1-2 days)
4) I have to find the time (normally 1 day, but sometimes more)
Therefore it may last until 4-8 days, until you notice it on your iperniyt account

Paypal is implemented in the ipernity software. It works quickly and secure. Even credit card payments are possible.
Bank transfer is managed manually via several steps (see above). Human beeings make mistakes. Perhaps I did. I'll check it immediately.

It happened exactly what I always feared would happen: The amount has long since been booked, but the bonus credit has been forgotten. I have made up for it in the meantime and beg your pardon. In view of the flood of tasks, I probably failed to transfer the booking from the Excel file to the iperniyt database.

We need a CFO to deal with these problems as quickly as possible. Hopefully somebody will stand for election!

That's fine. I only did it this way to avoid a multiple payment on my credit card throwing up a red flag as a possible fraudulent transaction. They are very hot on that.

Ok, my subscription runs out in a few days and I've been trying to renew with the 4 year + 1 bonus year, but for the life of me, I can't work out how it's done. Please explain (in simple terms) how to.

Dear TimC, You have to renew for one additional year four times in a row. Then IMA's accounting will recognize automatically and credit the bonus year.

Guido, the trouble for some of us may be that whenever we renew a couple of times, the automatic emails that we receive only announce the standard date +1year and never the increased 'bonus'.
I for instance have in my incoming email four mails from ipernity progressively increasing my renewal date each time from one more year, but nothing after that (the last email announces the normal '+ 4 years' date).
It is only by going to my account and digginq quite deep that I end in discovering the real end date for me, which indeed has been corrected there.
You should announce this behavior, because the emails we receive are definitely misleading....

We are familiar with the problem of automated mails sent by the old ipernity program. It does not only concern this action, but all bonuses that have ever been issued in the past 10 years. Christophe Ruelle has simply forgot to implement automated messages for this as well.

This now for a single special action to make up, would intervene very deeply in the system. Apart from the fact that our IT provider refuses to make such interventions in the existing software because of the high risk, the costs would consume a lot of the money we hope to collect.

We ask for your understanding that we are very careful with your money. We also make sure that the bonuses are entered correctly into the database, as you can easily see by checking the end date.

I looked into using the API for downloading photos back to pc.
First problem: getting it to work in a friendly manner.
Second problem: it would allow anyone to download a whole gallery, not just their own.

So to have a tool available only within one's own account has to be a preferred option, with the reprogramming. Currently however, when viewing one of your own albums, the Tools menu (button on the right) has "Download the entire album". Sadly the suggested Firefox Addon that could have used the file, is no longer available.

But Guido found a way, posted in the revised FAQ (work in progress).
