This is the end, my friends, this is the end ...
- 8 years ago - 6 comments... as The Doors sang. I'm here since 2007, escaping from Flickr censorship. Before the introduction of groups! ipernity saved my life, in a really dark period of my life. I still have contacts with the first friends I made here. Smiles, laughters, but also grief, for some friends we lost. I feel a big pain inside at the idea that all we built here will be soon a cloud of dissolving bits: it's like experiencing again the flood that three years ago destroyed a big part of my books, photos, v…

190000+ visits
- 11 Oct 2016I'm mostly inactive since mid-2012, but visits continue to sum up. It is a really interesting statistical phenomenon seeing how the group of users that gave birth to the community, escaping from Flickr, seems to still attract visits, while summing up "likes" seems simpler than in the past. Someone can explain it? I suppose the @Team could explain it looking at the connection graph.

150,000 thanks
- 05 Feb 2014 - 3 commentsSo much has changed from my first steps on ipernity, 6 yrs and a half ago. We were a little community of friends: now we're a big multi-ethnic city. Thank you very much for the 150,000+ page views of my almost abandoned stream! It's always a pleasure to wander through your photostreams and enjoy this variety of styles, idioms, cities and people!

Nomad
- 06 Apr 2013 - 5 commentsI came here 6 years ago, escaping from Flickr. I was living the worst crisis of my life. Photography and ipernity gave me support for re-taking contact with myself and my emotions. Now, when I'm sad or worried, taking shots and writing are second nature. I lost a big part of the technical knowledge that I learned from my friends, here, but I'm still deeply grateful to them. Having a full time job again, from almost 5 years, trasformed me from a monolith to a nomad. Photography helps me con…

In leave of absence (again...)
- 04 Aug 2009 - 2 commentsDear friends, as someone of you noticed, my presence on ipernity is very limited. I'm ready to start my vacations: two weeks of mountain views, in Sudtirol, as always. Returning home, the work vortex will bring me to new highs: the Company I work for had a two-fold increase in turnover and I have to run thru Europe to make my share in this increase, promoting and presenting our solutions (please: don't be shy if you have contacts in gas distribution/transport companies! thank you! ;-) ).…

ITALIAN BLOGGERS STRIKE
- 14 Jul 2009 - 1 commentOn July 14, 2009, Italian bloggers will muzzle themselves in the Web as well as in Piazza Navona in Rome, at 7PM where they will meet to protest against an Italian government bill (the Alfano decree) introducing a number of new rules which will limit the freedom of expression in Italian internet. The so-called "obligation to rectify" imposed to the manager of an information site (blogs, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter etc) clearly appears to be a pretext. In fact such imposition,…
