a station near you? I now uploaded a collection of my station photos and they can be all found back in the new folder "stations".

Do you guys like trains and do you also use it? I go to work with the train daily. For me it's most convenient as it's only a seven minute train ride to my work whereas it would take about 30 minutes if I would take the car to work (because of the longer car ride and the need to park far away from the work place and catch a shuttle bus from the parking place). Some years ago we even got rid of our car and since then we only (have to) rely on public transport. But it's simply a matter of planning ahead to find suitable connections on trains, trams and buses. How about you, what's your daily hassle to get work? ;-)

I go to work using the subway/tram and I never possessed a car as I never needed it, living in a big city with well organized public transports. As I said in another comment I also often travel with the train for my work (usually long distances, i.e. a few 100 kilometres). Flying is another means of transport I often have to use for my work especially. Because of that I am not a big friend of train stations and airports, as they symbolize stress for me ;-)

@ KliX: I can imagine that you are not to fond of train stations and airports as you associate it with work and stress. I certainly agree with you that nowadays travelling has very often become more of a hassle than enjoyment. That's why I started to love cruises :-) You get around, you see places and you never have to worry about moving yourself and from one hotel to the next... that's a way of travelling I can still enjoy. But it's very much different if you are under pressure to catch a train or flight and have to do it for work. Luckily in Europe we can often get around only using and relying on public transport. A very big advantage of people like David in Australia who much more rely on their own vehicle than "us lucky ones" in Europe I would say.
@ David: you mentioned one reason why I also love to take the train to work, you have some time to read or doze off in the few minutes... one aspect I havent' mentioned though is the constant annoyance that the dutch railways' (NS) product is not the best what you would hope for. Their trains regularly have delays, if there is a slight problem with the weather you can almost rely on dutch railways to make it their problem as well... ;-) I also do not like their schedules... their first train on a sunday morning from my stop to the airport (where I work) is a quarter after 6 in the morning, can you imagine? Much too late for people and not worthy of a city like Amsterdam I would say. But hey, that's just my personal small view on the big NS.
