Neighbors in Trowutta

Starting any conversation got a bit a problem, due the strange slang they spoke and the mentality they have, it reminds me to the US American south states mentality to partiality, racialism and discrimination (!!) Never forget: Western people killed off all est. 10,000 Tasmanian Aborigines in 1812-76 .

An evening we were organizing a party for all neighbors in Trowutta, inviting them for beer and barbecue. At a lonely place like Trowutta the relationship between the farmers is very closed to each other.

These forests are also managed for a wide range of values besides timber production including water quality, landscape, wildlife, recreation and honey production. Each year, the North West Forests beehive sites produce about 140 tonnes of the unique Leatherwood honey, about a quarter of Tasmania’s total production. If you visit in summer, look for the white flowers of the Leatherwood tree.

When you travel overland you always feel the very small settlement in Tasmania. Trowutta is a village with only 200 inhabitants.

Several eucalypts are among the tallest trees in the world. Eucalyptus regnans, the Australian Mountain Ash, is the tallest of all flowering plants today, the tallest measured specimen named Centurion is exact 100 m tall.
