Some Khlongs are floating through parts of the museum. Old barges filled with goods like pottery products (behind) are pulled by a tugboat. The scenery hasn't changed at the present and can be seen on many Thai rivers and its Khlongs.

The procession exhibited at Mueang Boran is painstakingly constructed based on real barges which have been used since the late Ayutthaya period. While the construction of the graceful barges has proved the prosperity of the long established Siamese civilization, the barges reflect the tra di tion al Thai way of life which relied very much on public waterways, rivers and canals.

The late Ayutthaya became rich and well-known among foreigners as one of the important trade cities in South east Asia. To celebrate the prosperity and dignity of the kingdom, many state ceremonies and artistic work were created.

Transporting goods like sand or rice by barges was common since more than hundred years. The museum park shows some historic barges which where used long time ago. Meticulously restored golden teakwood rice-barges, transports and place along the Chao Phraya and many other rivers or waterways and canals.
