At the sidewalk people sell finish cocked indefinable dishes for taking home. I bought it ate it and I was surprised it was delicious.

You'll need a lot of confidence to let have an hair cut in this shop, but the result in my case was ok, because I nearly have no hairs to cut. The customer man before me lost his ear during the war not in this shop.

The cave was a shelter for the Laotian habitants during the Chinese invasion in the late 1800's when all three kingdoms were vassals of Siam. Thats why still many people come to sacrifice and donate to the good spirits.

The most famous of the caves, Tham Jang is a large cavern that was used as a bunker in defence against marauding jįin háw (Yunnanese Chinese) in the early 19th century (jąng means steadfast).

Vang Vieng today is mainly a backpacker town. The main street is littered with guest houses, bars, restaurants, internet cafes and tour agencies. The town itself does not offer interesting cultural sightseeing places but is a starting point for amazing excursions in the close-by mountains.

Once no more than a bus changing station on the long haul between Vientiane and Luang Prabang, it has managed to become a destination in its own right. Still not much more than three streets and a bus station, the main attractions are the river, laid back countryside and cave-filled rock formations.
