This small, critically endangered marsupial lives high up in small clefts in the face of giant cliffs in north west Australia. It exists only in 3 isolated locations, in very small populations.

On the 2,700km Eyre Highway, there are no medical facilities for 2400 kms. If there is an emergency, The Royal Flying Doctor Service uses sections of the highway as a runway, in order to carry people by plane to hospitals. It would take at least 24 hours by vehicle. The Flying Doctor service operates all over remote Australia.
