Music while munching

09 Sep 2017 14 9 608
This pleasant young lady is playing a traditional two string "Chinese violin", more correctly known as an Erhu. She was providing the background music in a restaurant, very proficiently I might add. She completed her set by playing a piece called the "Csardas" , based on Hungarian folk music. You can hear a version of it played on an Erhu here (though I suggest skipping to about 3.00 to start). Let there be drums

The Warwick State High School had their own band in "Jumpers and Jazz" - I suspect this very committed drummer is their teacher. Which leads me to this musical link (not what they were playing). Best viewed on black. See my Jumpers and Jazz" album for more images from this event. Explored.

At "Jumpers and Jazz" in Warwick. Saxophones really sound great (IMHO) as this link shows. Second image in note. See my Jumpers and Jazz" album " for more images from this event.

May Fair Music

CC Hall, lead guitarist and joint leader of the Canberra band “The Bridge Between”. They specialise in “Blues roots” and featured at Michelago's May Fair again in 2014 (they were there the previous year). They have released an album ”Hope Street”, available through their website www.thebridgebetween.com.au where there also is a link to listen to them. I enjoyed their music enough to buy the CD. My entry for “May 2014-Prime lenses (fixed focal length)” competition. For information, our Prime Lenses Group has monthly competitions (see group discussions). The winner sets the theme and judges the entries for the following month. This month's topic is "musicians playing their instruments."

The Musician

This is CC Hall, who I met as a photographic subject for my F****r "Portrait of a Stranger" project when at the Michelago Show. He is lead guitarist and singer for the Canberra band "The Bridge Between" . I'd describe their style as R&B (not sure if that's the term they'd use), but you can make up your own mind by listening here: www.thebridgebetween.com.au/Listen.html *EDIT* See below, the musical genre has now been ID'd as Blues/Rock. Uploaded for the January 2014 monthly comp for the Prime lenses (fixed focal length) group.
