Welcome to Birdsville, one of Australia's more iconic remote townships with (as shown in the PiP) a population of about 115 (+/- 7,000) depending on whether an "event" (such as the Birdsville Races) is happening. Best viewed large.
Taking the lead of the people sitting outside, I'll wish everyone a very Happy Bench Monday and a great week to come.

The interesting little town of Honningsvag, in the far north of Norway, where a sign notes that it is only 2100km from the North Pole.

The old buildings and narrow lanes of the Bryggen area of Bergen were fascinating.

This little town was in the central highlands. On the right the mini-bus we travelled in. As can be seen, motor scooters are particularly popular in Laos as a first form of motorised transport. It also seemed that every second shop was selling mobile phones! Second image in note.

Looking across the town of Merimbula from our motel room, it's easy to see why the tourist promotions label this "The Sapphire Coast"

Not what it was in about 1900, when it had 20 hotels, Zeehan is a small former mining town in the west of Tasmania. The imposing building on the left, once the Gaiety Theatre, houses part of a community museum. Happy Fence Friday!
